CHILD AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT WORKER

AMBER WOMENS REFUGE, is a long-established organisation working to
empower women and children of all cultures and backgrounds to live
abuse-free lives. As a specialist domestic abuse service our
professional team works alongside others to safeguard women and
children against domestic abuse, including coercive control. We
provide safe, supportive, client centred services, from early
intervention to recovery, both in the community and at the refuge.

_THE PURPOSE OF THIS POST IS:_

* _To provide primary support through the development of support
plans and interventions, responding to the unique needs of children
and young people affected by domestic violence and abuse. To spearhead
service development initiatives, where the person will design and
implement targeted programmes and interventions to support children
and young people. To increase the capacity of the services provided by
Amber Women’s Refuge to children and young people._

_ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:_

* A third-level degree in Youth Work, Social Care, Youth and
Community Work, or other relevant field related to working with
children and young people.

_EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:_

* An experienced professional with a minimum of 3 years of
professional experience in a role(s), directly related to working with
children and young people using evidence-based methods of engagement.
* Demonstrated experience in spearheading service development
initiatives, including the creation and execution of programmes and
interventions designed to support children and young people at risk or
impacted by domestic violence.
* Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively with social
workers, community services and other key stakeholders to develop a
referral pathway for children and young people to respond to
identified needs and risk of domestic violence.
* Demonstrated experience of creativity, resourcefulness and of
using professional relationship building skills to engage with
children and young people to improve outcomes for them.
* Demonstrated experience of competence in designing, managing, and
implementing tailored support plans and interventions with children
and young people in response to needs and risks.
* Direct experience working with children and young people at risk,
both one-on-one and in group settings.

_WORK FLEXIBILITY AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:_

* _Must be flexible to work outside of standard office hours,
including weekends, to meet the evolving needs of our services._
* _A full, clean drivers license and access to own vehicle are
essential for this role._
